Birmingham Hippodrome
Birmingham Hippodrome
With audiences averaging around 500,000 each year the Birmingham Hippodrome can lay claim to the highest regular annual attendance of any single theatre in the UK.
The Theatre Trust is a Registered Charity (No. 510842), and they have a Development Trust (No. 511567).
Since their award-winning £35m redevelopment in 2001, the city centre venue has attracted ever-increasing numbers of people to performances and events and is drawing audiences from an increasingly broad geographical and socio-demographic spread.
New people are enjoying some of the finest productions in the world alongside long-standing supporters, with up to half the audience experiencing a performance at the Hippodrome for the very first time.
“Stunning, full-sized West End quality in Birmingham.” Ed Doolan, BBC Radio WM “It’s been a tough few years putting the Hippodrome back on the map” comments Stuart Griffiths who stepped into the limelight as Chief Executive barely ten months after the 109 – year old theatre re-opened. “Getting the most from our vastly expanded facilities has been an uphill struggle, especially when the costs of operating have increased by 50%, but the challenges have galvanised the whole team and with a strong and supportive Board of Trustees, together with the key support of the city council and the Arts Council, we have strengthened our business considerably and can look forward now from a stable position to an exciting future with some ambitious plans.”
Birmingham Hippdrome OPENING HOURS
Monday to Saturday from 10:00am – 8:00pm, closed at 6:00pm on non performance days and closed for most Sundays and Public holidays.
